PhineasPoe is helping with the renaming of these avs (I know, it’ll be annoying to update this dogreat timesent, but that’s part of its raison d’etre) and he noticed a couple are mismatched.

Update time! Based on PhineasPoe’s suggestions and the tagging efforts of ChilePepino, Jubbles and the artist formerly known as Papa Stalin, a bunch of the avatars in this Spoilerpedia article, have been renamed.

It was a huge pain in the bum, but a picture of a chick wearing a camouflage tank top, for instance, is no longer labeled “Green.” Log in to see images!

Anyway, same deal as before: I’ll give a Collaborator E-Peen™ to the first person to sign up to update the article and do it successfully.

Some of the changes are kind of subtle, so stay sharp!

Hmm… I like peens, and have a high tolerance threshold for repetitive tasks, so I could maybe do something.

On the other hand I’m going away for a week from Monday… so I’d have to do it fairly quickly, unless everyone else is super-uninterested and it’s still open when I get back.

If it makes any difference, I already started looking through the list on the wiki as against the results of the list box on forumbuildr and compiling a list of which names have changed, and what they’ve changed to.

Yeah… by one of the worst ways possible, at least from when I hear of scripts and the like.

Who needs scripts… as far as I can tell you could use that to identify picture to look at, but image comparison/recognition by computers is kinda… not good.

I suppose the limited set of pictures would help, but it’s probably beyond the reach of a simple script.

I’ve got a method going… but if we’re both doing the same thing then maybe we should split the workload?

I already got down to Digital Clock from the top down… how far are you?

(edit) I knew this would happen… working down the list from the top is just too naturally human behaviour for 2 people working independently to not end up duplicating effort…

(edit again) I’ll start working up from the bottom so that I know I’m doing something worthwhile.

Just so we’re clear on which top/bottom, I’m pulling up each entry as it is on Forumbuildr, then checking that against the existing wiki page to see if it’s in there under the same name, and if not then finding the same picture to find the old name.

I’ve checked the forumbuildr list from the top down to Digital Clock and from the bottom up to Wine Bottles.

I figure if you carry on from Digital Clock down, and we agree a middle point to stop at, then we can communicate to combine the lists and make an edit.

I was working in a spreadsheet – one column for the old name, one column for the new name that replaces it, but that’s easy enough to combine with a word doc.

Ok, I’ll post again when I get there, and check every so often to see if you’ve beaten me to it… if one of us gets there way ahead of the other then we can pick a new middle point.
