And we’ve reached our third prize. Congrats to Kooler221 for winning 5 BP.
On another topic, we’ve begun to stagnate. Normally this signals the death of a contest, so I’m going to try mixing it up a bit for those of you who are slightly less chance minded. As of right now, every three people that you get to join this contest that reach Chunin will earn you 1BP (limit 10BP awarded this way… for now). All you have to do is get someone to participate normally with one additional step. In the same post that they are displaying their sig, have them place a message saying who got them to join. Prizes for this side contest will be distributed at the end of the main contest or when we reach 50 referral points, whichever comes sooner. Participation in this side contest is open to both the new players and the couple of established players that have been lurking this thread.
Note that participation in this side contest will not affect your chances to win prizes from the main contest in any way other than being more likely to reach the next prize level.

Also, for all the other folks, like me, who just got started on BvS, you might be interested to know that there is an item – the PikaBike – that grants +20 Stamina per day. You get it by playing to level 100 and beating the boss in the less interesting game that came before Billy, AnimeVersus. I like stamina. I’m working on it. I’m playing Lamhfada. After level 10, you can add other players as Rivals. Rivals basically seem to give free XP toward leveling and free “Awesome” toward getting useful items.
In other words, they are good. I want some. If you want +20 Stamina/day for Billy, like I do, feel free to join Animeversus and add Lamhfada when you can add rivals. You’ll have to TM me or something, because apparently there’s no notification when someone adds you, you just have to know to add them back. We can all rivalwhore together to make it as quick as possible.
Oh, and check the AnimeVersus wiki. There’s information on good starting builds and progressions there to help you level up quickly. Samildanach edited this message on 05/04/2009 4:46AM |

The stamina isn’t a points based system, it’s just to check for inactivity. Having a negative stamina will affect you if you drink a potion to gain more, but you’ll start the next day with a normal amount of stamina. As for the Reaper stamina penalty, you can negate it by completing a quest to recieve the item “Soul Candy” but you first need to get the allies TicTac (from Gen Reaper missions) and Robogirl (from Tai Reaper missions) to unlock the quest. There are similar penalties for a few other parts of the game but they also have ways to safeguard against the stamina loss.
As for how the sparring and arena work, it’ll pick a difficulty and have each character roll as normal (it counts your levels, range, strength) and whoever gets most successes wins. Arena *usually* pairs you up with other players of the same season and rank, but there is a percentage chance to face anyone in the game. |

Today marks the end of the two week period I initally planned on running this contest for.
