HELLZ YEAH! Studio Ghibli rocks my socks!

If you like Ghibli, don’t forget to snag Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. It’s Miyazaki’s feature directorial debut, but it was made for a different studio so it often gets missed.

Especially because its probably going out of print again soon. I think Manga let the license run out and so it shall once again drift around until someone again purchases it, makes yet another crappy English dub to go with it, and re-releases it.

Please, are the master of time limits on forum posts or something? There are so many good reasons to like animu – really, there should be far more information available on these forums. It’s hard to get people “in” to animu – I think they just need to know more about it!Log in to see images!

Everybody needs to watch at least a few animu before making any judgment! It’s too bad people seem to think they are “just cartoons” – any animu is far more detailed and intricate than the “just cartoons” pumped out by mainstream entertainment.

I recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion as a good starter series – a lot of the themes and plot elements are found throughout animu, so it makes for a good first exploration.

I’ve always been a fan of more old school anime compared to newer ones. Trigun and Cowboy Bebop were some of my personal favorites. Gundam Wing was amazingly well done for a series that is primarily mecha. Death Note was very suspenseful and I enjoyed it a lot, and Fullmetal Alchemist was extremely creative and original, although I disliked the film.

I also enjoyed YuYu Hakusho to an extent, and I drool over the Hellsing OVA, because Alucard is just so epic.

I came into Samurai Champloo fully expecting to hate it, but was pleasantly surprised at how good it really was, and now it’s one of my favorites.

And yes, I also loved Fooly Cooly.
