I should probably leave this game and play something whose premise doesn’t intrinsically encourage bumholery.

I don’t know man, it’s up to you. I don’t think you should leave if Forumwarz is still fun for you, but if you really want to quit, I won’t stop you from doing it. Maybe sleep over it first?

I already said that that was probably a mistake and generichaxor should be given time to fix it.

This should not be an issue. The OP in a contest should NEVER be edited without quoting it for toxx.

He should not get a chance to add it back in because he never should have edited it in the first place. Reserving the second or third post for updates is the relatively standard procedure when making large contests like this.

Once the other mods have their say there will be a resolution to both these threads.

Wow, you can’t add extra rules after the contest begins! Close the contest and everyone unfriend all those people and you can re-friend if you’re inclined to after they make a new contest with clear and unchangeable rules. I, for one, am not inclined!

Never? I’ve seen lots of people editing their OPs without toxx quotes, and not just to announce winners. Heck, Hobart edited his contest while it was running to drastically lower the scope. Anyway, if the mods say that generichaxor gets a ban, (s)he gets a ban. I hope it isn’t too long and the contest doesn’t get stopped.

Wait, then what’s the point of the toxx quote?

actually wait, ****, you’re right. that’s the whole point of quoting: to keep the OP preserved so you can fix spelling and ****.

Why shouldn’t you be allowed to add extra prizes? I’ve seen people adding extra prizes lots of times without getting banned. For example, Hobart.

Okay. It seems sort of redundant and not actually that common, though.

EDIT: Never mind then.

If you edit the OP and your original copy is still there, it shows you just made some clarification or participant-beneficial changes instead of anything shady like, say, adding rules that you have to friend a ton more people to get what you were originally promised.

TUBSWEETIE said that there should be 2 unedited copies of the original: the OP, and the toxx quote, with a third post for updates. Also, all changes to generichaxor’s contest have been positive, except the disappearance of the “most interesting post” prize, which is probably a mistake.

EDIT: Apparently TUBSWEETIE screwed up when (s)he said that. Only 1 unedited copy of the original contest is necessary.

You only have to friend generichaxor to be eligible for the main prize. Why does no one get this?

Bonus BP for the best post overall (funny/thoughtful etc)

I think I messed up when I said that the “most interesting post” prize disappeared; the OP is really confusing. The numeric value is gone, though.

Still, judging by TUBSWEETIE’s posts, what generichaxor did do is enough for a ban.

To summarize:

generichaxor forgot to make a toxx quote or did not know that (s)he was supposed to have one. (S)he then made a bunch of confusing, sometimes wrong edits to the OP to add prizes or make other changes. There seems to have been no malicious intent, and all promised prizes will probably be delivered. Although no prizes disappeared, numeric values did.

If this is bannable, how much of a ban should it get, and what exactly can we change about contests while they are running?
