i think i’ve got all of their albums. legally or not. the only one i seem to have misplaced is the copy of “within a mile of home” that a friend let me borrow (and the copy i subsequently made from it. she had the actual album).
“black friday rule” and “devil’s dance floor” from “swagger” are probably my favorite songs, along with “what’s left of the flag” from “drunken lullabies”. it’s a toss-up between “drunken lullabies” and “float” when it comes to which album is most consistently good all the way through. “swagger”, while a good album, goes from hard and fast to really really slow too often. there are good songs of both types, but it’s hard to listen to the album as a whole sometimes. NotJoePesci Posted: okay, so here’s how it breaks down with the whole “irish/celtic-punk” thing: if you want something with more traditional irish/celtic elements go with The Pogues (which you posted), if you want something that’s more punk elements than traditional irish/celtic, go with Dropkick Murphys (audio below). if you want a good balance of the two, go with Flogging Molly (in the first post) or Blood or Whiskey (also below).
EDIT: apparently you can only do one youtube video per post? ah well, more posts then. Everybodyknows edited this message on 02/02/2009 7:58PM |
