“Asymmetric Publications announces closing of KoL”
December 27, 2008

A popular internet browser game known as “The Kingdom of Loathing”, or “KoL” for short, has announced they will be shutting down permanently after the new year.

In a recent interview with the creator of KoL, who goes by the name Jick, he said he and his team are “saddened” by the “recent events outside of our control.” When asked if the closure was in response to low finances, Jick responded: “It’s not that there isn’t enough money, yeah. We get money—and we like money—but the people that play this game are just bumholes.”

It is unknown if Asymmetric Publications will be returning with any future games.

I’m going to stop mid sentence because I just realized that forumwarz has become exactly what it started off parodying. A good number of the newer posters don’t see that we’re making fun of idiots and spammers and trolls that exist on other forums. They are the idiots and spammers and trolls we used to parody.
