Over the last few days at random times my right eyelid has been spasming or twitching. Why the heck would this be happening? Am I getting turrets or did I get some brain damage in all the bar fights I’ve been in? I can’t see a doctor because I have no insurance so I hope it just stops. Anyone have any advice?
This is a non-trolling thread, and this is actually true RL. Please offer valid thoughts/suggestions. |

I have the same tic/spasm thing in my eyelid. It’s nothing to worry about, just a nerve having a freak-out session or some such. |

They just happen. My eyelids would do that a lot but they’ve simmered down as of late.
Nothing to be concerned with. |

I had the same thing a month or so ago; it lasted for well over a month, on and off.
My BF had it, as did a woman in my office, and we all got it around the same time. Apparently that stupid, annoying, distracting eye twitch can be caused by allergies. Try some Claritin or something for a few days and see if it clears up. I know it sounds crazy, but once hay fever season calmed down, my eye twitch went away, as did my BF’s, and that of the lady I work with. |

Also, you might wanna post this on a place like WebMD or askadoctor.com, instead of Forumwarz. You know why, I don’t need to elaborate. |

Drink more water. Being properly hydrated solves a lot of things. |

Since it’s only been about maybe 2 times a day for the last 3 days I’m not gonna go for the allergy medication quite yet. I’ve never been alergic to anything in the past, and it’s like 5 degrees here with a foot of snow on the ground, and I have no pets. If it starts getting more frequent I will give taking something like that some serious thought though. I just don’t like the idea of my sinuses being “dried-up” when there is practically no humidity and my lips have been dry to the point of cracking lately.
Thanks everyone for the comments, I didn’t know how this would go over because I felt weird asking and I thought it only happened to me. |

Causes of Eye Twitching There are various causes of eye twitching in its serious and not so serious formats. The more common causes for eye twitching include:
* Corneal irritation or injury * Stress * Lack of sleep * Fatigue * Prolonged staring or eye strain
If you have no history of Tourette’s Syndrome in your family then it’s probably one of the simple reasons above. |

No history of it. It’s just that none of those other things seems right either. Well, maybe stress. I can’t think of anything else and I don’t feel like going over the list of my personal problems in depth, as they are probably alot.

Do you have a job that involves copious amounts of time at the PC or doing something repetitive? This falls under those as well. As someone who gets this a couple times a year from not sleeping, you should be fine if there is no Neurological Syndrome history in your family. |

No job currently which might work towards the stress factor, but I do spend alot of time on my computer. I have a dual monitor lcd set-up, I had thought lcd was supposed to be better than crt’s. I also changed the lights in my computer room to those florescent bulbs, maybe I should put in an incandescent lamp for more consistent light. |

It’s usually caused by the things above and also eye strain, low potbumium (eat a banana) and alcohol. I get mad eye twitches when I am drinking.
I would eliminate anything that can cause eye strain, get some sleep, drink some water, eat a banana, avoid alcohol and stress for a couple days and see if that helps. Eye twitches are pretty common but annoying. |
