I guess this isn’t a band or a song, but I recently discovered TMF Video Yearmixes. They’re all really good, about an hour long usually, 2007 is especially good. Some of them are on YouTube and they can all be downloaded with BitTorrent fairly easily. They’re European so there’s some random Euro-techno in there but mostly American radio hits. I’m not normally into Top 40 but the way these mixes are put together is really nice! Log in to see images!

The King Blues. Folk-Punk-Reggae-Ska. Were fantastic at the Reading Festival this year, and I got to have a chat with some of the band members when they played a local venue recently, which was nice

Flogging Molly. Irish Folk-Rock. Also great at Reading.

Rocket From The Crypt. Punk’n’Roll? Also, trumpets, but not a ska band. So ****ed that I never discovered them before they split.

Been listening to quite a lot of (Post-)Hardcore recently too, bands like At The Drive-In, Hot Water Music, Every Time I Die, Glbumjaw, Reuben, etc. etc. All fantastic, though lot of them have broken up too. Bah

Found an absolute ton of stuff this year, but I guess the band I’ve gotten into the most this year would be Faith No More

Obviously I’ve been familiar with them for a long time but only this year did I properly start listening to them, absolutely love ‘em

Gotten into Aphex Twin, more ambient stuffs (thank Blue Jam for that!), more chiptune…oh and Ulver I got into this year, absolutely love them now

Yeah…plenty o’ stuffs, though I guess Faith No More is the best.

Ludo’s Broken Bride EP. I don’t care much for their full album, though a few songs are kickbum.

Seconded on the flogging molly, although I only heard a couple of their songs so far.

I have to say I have more reason to HATE music in 2008 than not, but one band that im starting to like is falconer. To the guy who was serious about dragonforce (which I doubt) you should check them out.
