If you’ve played enough blackjack with Gamble-bot, you’ve realized that the computer plays by certain rules. For new players, the rules are summarized here: 1. If Gamble-Bot’s upcard is an Ace, Facecard, or Ten, then Gamble-Bot’s down card will be a ten. (95%) 2. If Gamble-Bot’s upcard is a seven, eight or nine, and the player has twenty, Gamble-Bots’s down card cannot be a ten. (95%) 3. If the player hits on twelve or more, and reaches a total of 17, 18, or 19, Gamble-Bot will end up with a total of twenty. If the player’s total reaches 20, then Gamble-Bot will make 21. (90%) 4. If the player sticks with 16 or less, Gamble-Bot will not bust. (85%) 5. If the player doubles down on eleven, the next dealt card will be a five or less. (85%) The percentages in parenthesis is the amount of time the rule is enforced, this percent is necessary to allow the presumption of the game being fair and this all being in the players mind.
Certain other rules are yet to be discovered. Catt although edited this message on 08/01/2011 12:00AMLog in to see images! |

I’d say these are pretty accurate, they seem to match up to what happens with me a lot of the time…
Additionally, whenever I seem to get 13, like 95% of the time, whatever I do, I’ll lose. Though that could just be me being superstitious.
Good list though! I’ll have to remember these. Log in to see images! |

Here, I’ll add one:
6. If Gamblebot has a soft 17, he will hit. He will either get a 4, or a ten-value card followed by a 4. (90%)
This one in particular ****es me off. Having worked in a casino for two and a half years after I got out of college, and being taught to stand on ALL 17s, I can’t understand why this happens.
Moreover, there is a reason I specified the soft 17, since Gamblebot will stand if his first two cards are 8+9 or 7+10/face. The ace seems to completely **** up his logic. I was once molested by Robert Jordan. It took way too long and nothing interesting happened. |

That may well be in this case, sir, but it doesn’t change the second part of the rule. Namely, that it will ALSO hit a hard 17 if it comes after a soft 17. So half my point remains valid. I was once molested by Robert Jordan. It took way too long and nothing interesting happened. |
