Absolutely not, I do not blindly trust CZ. I do not trust their mod selections, especially since we have had plenty of time to see those in action. I do not trust the majority of the people selected for Ep 3, as I do not have any information about you guys whatsoever (like seeing actual examples of writing and humor). I have personally seen ET give a joke ban at the same time I got a real one. I have seen him be kind of wishy-washy and “settle-down, children” about things and I have seen overreactions from CZ members as well.

Don’t just agree with everything because someone owns a website. Anyone can with like 5 bucks.

Then I guess there’s not much else to say.

It’s too bad that you don’t trust the team that brought you a game you apparently enjoyed enough to pay non-zero dollars for, to recruit folks who might bring you more of the same. I hope people who are feeling the same way stick around, because while I understand the distrust, I don’t think it will be justified by the final product. There are some pretty good people working on new content, and sorry, but you’ll just have to take my word for it.

I think part of the problem is the difficulty of pinning down a set of clearly defined rules, such that there aren’t large grey areas or loopholes, while maintaining the original intent of those rules. Taken to the extreme you get something like the legal code of a country – a vast mbum of statutes covered with a morbum of amendments and sub-clauses, all of which requires trained specialists to understand, interpret, argue about and judge legality/illegality.

At the risk of sounding too old-farty, that sort of **** is why back in my day, when we had TEXT ONLY AND WE LIKED IT GODDAMNIT NOW GET OFFA MY LAWN – read, when MUDs were kings, queens, the alpha and omega – and I ran some, my rules were simple. Be a male reproductive organ, get banned. I get to say what being a male reproductive organ is, and it’s not a democracy. Rules lawyers hated it, but it made things nice and simple. I used to get a lot of complaints about it one place, but then I quit (tired of the complaints) and got replaced by one of those rules lawyers. It wasn’t long before people were asking me why I had to go and quit.

TL;DR: If you want clearly defined rules and regulations, careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

Every community I’ve been part of since about 0.5 seconds after I got ‘net access has gone through this, btw. Cool people get ****ed off and leave, while the bumholes never seem to go away. It really sucks. But life goes on.

I hope that enough cool people stick around here that the Ep3 stuff we’re working on is appreciated by people who understand. The best part about games for me has always been helping to create something other people enjoy, and I think and hope the community will enjoy Ep3.

I never could get back into it when 5th Ed came out. I started playing right when 3rd was released… it was a short run, but man, I played a lot.

Magic Workstation intrigues me though!

I think forums are to blame for the rising incidence of multiple personality disorder amongst the youth.

Kids nowadays don’t have any idea of how easy they have it.

Why, when I was young, I used to have to be my own best friend! And my best friend’s sister who I had a crush on, and my best friend’s mom who I used to spy on in the bathroom. It was all very confusing.

Kids now only have to manage one or two personalities. Sheesh.
