Occasionally one of their members comes up with an idea for a role-playing thread or storyline, and solicits the other members for feedback and to participate. Response varies but the results are usually worth it. I myself enjoyed playing in a rick-roll thread they created in-house.

Yup, and we’ll be continuing that.

What I feel they’re missing, though, which could make them a real draw if they decide to incorporate this idea, is advice on how to role-play. I’m not saying they should teach how to be interesting or creative (although if they could pull that off it would certainly help), but I would’ve liked to have seen ideas on how to sound like a camwhore, emo kid, re-re, or yes, even troll, consistently; how to use clbum-appropriate emoticons correctly; what level of Unintelligencer to use and whether you should replace words it doesn’t; etc. If they offered this service I think they’d get a bigger draw.

We’re actually already in the process of branching out into this! Yay, us.

Not that it looks like they want a big draw; their klan description reads “We do like to see RP in forums before we invite folks.” Given the problems people have playing non-trolls, SRSLY may be keeping out the very people who could most add to their mission of being “fabulous persongy RP people with others”.

We like to see RP so that we know people are interested; it’s not a completely hard and fast rule, though, by any means. Log in to see images!

One issue, RP-wise at least, is that we have countless emos, camwhores, and re-res who RP as . . . trolls.

As a result, there’s fifty people RPing as trolls (whether good RP or not) to every one or so RPing as an emo, a camwhore, or a re-re. While people have the right to RP as they wish (obviously), I think that it does throw off the RP in this game.

Paranoia about alts is fine, in my opinion — currently, you can check voting ratios to see if someone is an alt of someone else; however, I’d like to see that particular check removed altogether. What’s wrong with not knowing which alt belongs to which person?

The userbase will grow with time — this website’s just hit a “growing pains” point where we’re waiting for Episode 2, and the resultant influx of new folk and old folk returning. Hopefully, by the time Episode 2 hits, the rest of the website will be able to support people’s interest as well, and thus keep more folks around.

I contend that it was perhaps the single most gay thing I have ever seen on the flamebate, while others have stepped up to defend it, some even going so far, as to call it good trolling.

Iregardless of what you think of me, and my responses to it, (which I am quite sure you will tell me was extremely lame), I am willing to make the two of you a deal.

I would like a ruling from the two of you, because you are two posters, who have no reason to back me up on this, so you will not be at all biased towards me, (and in fact, will likely tell me I am wrong just to **** with me), and you are two posters here who seem to be generally respected as good posters.

If the two of you tell me that the posts Anansi made were good, and not gay crap, I will shut up about it, and never ever again say another word about it.

In fact, I will be willing to never again, start a flamewar with TSB over any reason, if you can HONESTLY tell me, that that sort of trolling is cool.

Either way it is a win win for you, if I am right, I will NOT crow about it, nor will I rub it in anyones face, but other posters will know just how lame it is, and be less likely to use it in the future, (thereby creating less gay threads in flamebate).

If you tell me it is cool you still win, because I will shut up about it, and will publicly admit right here in this thread, that I was wrong.

The “cross the bridge into my country” is actually a powerful tool in the world of couples’ workshops. That’s part of the reason I thought it might be useful here. I think there’s some unresolved tensions going on.
