The official "Let's make INCIT a better game!" contest discussion thread!Alright, the week five prize winner has been announced, as has the monthly prize winner for January.
We’ll start with the weekly winner Bacchus. It was a tough call, actually, with close front-runners in MeDrewNotYou, Raffle Ticket, and to a slightly lesser extent Stumpy Mike.
Contest stalwart Enter Name Here returns with an admittedly disappointing entry, although it wasn’t the worse one. Just not as good as some of his previous work. No offense.
This week saw the biggest number of submissions yet at 16. I’m quite happy with how things are going so far. Keep it up, guys!
As for the monthly prize, it really came down to three entries: Jubbles, Stumpy Mike and Neovid. The picture in Neovid’s entry just cracks me up, and the caption is damn near perfect for it. Kudos to you. I was very close to tossing the beeps your way, but Jubbles is just too damn funny. Stumpy Mike, that’s the funniest Parkinson’s related joke I’ve ever heard, which is in retrospect a surprisingly large amount.
Keep it up, guys. Also, what are your thoughts on the ads, if you’ve noticed them? Jesus H Christ signed in to the contest thread to comment on me using his name in vain, which made me laugh. I wasn’t sure the current one would get approved, but I always forget how self-depricating the mods and creators can be about this game. Admittedly, it doesn’t really say anything about the contest, but I think it’s enough to get people to click on it.

The "Let's make INCIT a better game" contest! Over 700bp to give away!Alright, week five is now officially over with. The winner of this week was Chuck Diesel for his genius minimalist entry entitled “wwwwwwwwwwwwwww.”
A poignant commentary on the human condition as a whole, soldiers are shown washing their uniforms in what appears to be dirty water on a rooftop in the hot sun. The melding of a simple job generally delegated to a housewife coupled with the obvious comraderie shown by hard men in uniform, and their holding deadly weapons, always vigilant for an impending attack, really speaks to the confusion of perceived gender roles in our current society. Television and other proponents of popular media would have us believe that there are still some jobs that require a “woman’s touch”, and some that are better left to the more resilient manly men, Chuck Diesel has really opened a critics’ eye on the issues surrounding a simple man’s struggle to find a personal identity in all of the confusion that comes with day to day life. I really can’t say enough about this entry; it is a stellar showing of exactly how great INCIT can be.
As for the long-awaited January monthly prize of 100BP, I guess it comes as no surprise that it will also go to Chuck Diesel. I am simply in awe of his wit.

Just minor textual changes in STalk chats, or are you actually planning on overhauling entire conversations by adding new choices and responses based on what gender you say your character is? Because if you really want to be realistic and lazy at the same time, you could just add a response in every conversation that says “I’m a girl you know!” and have the person you’re talking to say “There’s no girls on the internet,” or “If you aren’t going to show me your mammary glands it doesn’t really matter.” (view post) |

In my first bunch of towns somebody would inevitably forget to close the gates. Now that I’m in 100SP towns, we just have to deal with male reproductive organs and dictators. My current town is p. cool, though, it’s on day 14 and we just built a mega-pump, but will never survive the night because we’re about 200 short on defense and everyone wanted to build the mega-pump. Evidence that the mods don't care anymoreWell, you certainly got me there. I was just taking the rule of “death=not funny” as a given, when I should have been scientifically testing the theory for myself. You are officially a better scientist than I am.
Also, the woman blowing herself up with a spam text message is hilarious. I’ve been making jokes about that all week. I hadn’t heard of the people who died whilst ****ing on a roof or the guy who taped himself to the underside of a plane though.
I should have figured there’d be a Darwin award for the guy who blew himself up with chewing gum. That would have given my story some detail, which would have been nice. Ah well. (view post) |

It has been picking up lately, although at some points it’s still dead. It seems to be pretty active around 10-11 eastern time (GMT-6), also on weekends because people on Forumwarz have nothing better to do in real life with free time I guess. Me included.
