Hummer: Made In China

I’ve actually been sick of hearing this in the last several months since there is a GM plant roughly 20 miles from where I live. Every night on the local news it’s the same song and dance. A bunch of 50 year old white males protesting and saying how everyone who doesn’t buy an “American made” automobile is killing the economy and supports communism/socialism.

But at the same time they fail to realize their hypocrisy and don’t realize how much production and manufacturing of those “American made” vehicles are outsourced.

In all actuality Honda and Nissan really are the most “American made” car manufacturers, yes they may be Japanese companies but the majority of bumembly within both companies is done here in the United States. Making the majority of the employees paid for the process of bumembly going to Americans.

Also maybe more people would be interested in buying GM/Ford/Chrysler and their sister companies products if they were more reliable and efficient.

I remember when backing up and restoring consisted of running a noisy bum tape drive for about 2 hours just to get the actual 20 files you wanted.

Downloading a single song used to take about 20 minutes on a DCC in IRC.

When the remote control for the TV used to be a child.
