Rubbish. Difficult to beat regularly, sure, but lots of Emo’s did both repeatedly.

Note that last time I raided was during the mbumive interference period by a large group of co-ordinated players a while ago. It might be much more feasible now.

I may be in a raiding klan, but due to timezone differences and a stupid workload I’m primarily a solo player, and I make many, many more scoops total over all my alts with lemon, pistachio and solo vanilla than I would with a main character with lemon, pistachio and klan vanilla (and solo vanilla if I save my mains visits which is pretty standard), even if this change meant my alts made some klan vanilla too. This is because if you’re raiding, because of the dynamics of preparation and protecting against interference it’s usually difficult to work out pistachio runs on alt characters and fairly tough to get any lemon.

Err… that’s a terrible explaination. Lets go with some numbers, see if that makes it clearer

Option A: Solo

For an ideal solo vanilla run of 12 visits, you can get 72 vanilla, 36 lemon and a varying amount of pistachio. Let’s say about 50 ish if you’re roughly in the middle of a run. That’s 158 scoops. 10 (really very good) solo characters working as a team make 1580.

Option B: Raid

If there’s only 1 main not using his visits for solo purposes, with the rest made up of alts of other klannies helping out, they can make 96 klan vanilla, plus the solo player makes 158, giving a grand total of 1118 scoops from a team of 10.

The klan player will have 96 more scoops than his individual competitors, but the solo team makes 462 more scoops overall, and if more than a couple are in the same bracket as the klan player they will anhiliate him/her. Even if the raid characters make some lemon and pistachio scoops (they might get 15 total, each) that’s still a pretty steep hill to climb.

There’s a lot more to this, I know, especially if you get characters and klans with enough alts (and time!) to raid everyday and keep adding the same main into each raid, but that’s beyond my ability sort out. If anything, this is gonna make raids longer as you just have one main, 9 other player’s alts, raid to the limit, start a new raid with someone elses main, raid to the limit etc. etc. That’s really ****ing tedious and I doubt I’d be willing to participate.

*Edit* Made this post before talks of nerfing solo vanilla came in. I might be behind the idea if you can get it to balance well, but it’s still pretty overpowering at the moment. Also, cutting back on solo scoops is still going to hurt the klan “main” who isn’t participating, but that’s a much minor effect.

Just got through running 12 visits on all my alts, so here’re my views on the current balance (which’ll probably be out of date by tomorrow… ) All the characters have very similar .moar files, each that can equip the best glbumes have them on, and they all have mostly offense-orientated builds. I like to max out on luck and have slightly higher ego than most true speed runners, but these guys are reasonably comparable.

Emo: Offense 99

Camwhore: Offense 95

Troll: Offense 90

Hacker: Offense 144

The Emo and Camwhore seem pretty well balanced at this point. They both hit at about 1900-2000 damage on their high-end attacks, with the same refresh rates etc. I think the Emo clbum has a slight advantage for the long forums like Homicide Girls and Home of the Male Objectors since they tend to take a bit of damage in these runs, pushing the damage of the best attack up to 2100-2200, but the effect is minor.

The Troll was definitely very much overpowered, hitting something like 2700-2800 with his top attack. Considering that the clbum’s reduced offense compared to Camwhores and Emos really isn’t all that much if you set up your builds right, I think they need nerfing again.

The Hacker’s the trickiest to judge on balance (especially since I wasn’t paying as much attention whilst playing it, so take this with a pinch of salt), with the odd refresh rates and high PP cost. I actually ran out of PP in a longer forum for the first time today, which is actually kinda neat since you have to pay more attention. That said, these are disadvantages to the clbum and the resulting attacks should be slightly better to compensate, but at the moment the hacker is hitting for very similar (slightly more, maybe?) damage to the Emo/Camwhore baseline. He has over 50 more points in offense, and still doesn’t hit as hard as a Troll! Frankly, it seems to me that they need a boost. I’d keep the refresh rates and PP costs similar to how they are now, though, just increase the damage a bit.

The King Blues. Folk-Punk-Reggae-Ska. Were fantastic at the Reading Festival this year, and I got to have a chat with some of the band members when they played a local venue recently, which was nice

Flogging Molly. Irish Folk-Rock. Also great at Reading.

Rocket From The Crypt. Punk’n’Roll? Also, trumpets, but not a ska band. So ****ed that I never discovered them before they split.

Been listening to quite a lot of (Post-)Hardcore recently too, bands like At The Drive-In, Hot Water Music, Every Time I Die, Glbumjaw, Reuben, etc. etc. All fantastic, though lot of them have broken up too. Bah

A lot of us don’t post mbumively, but whenever there’s a “I need help in domination!” or balance dicscussion, new tactics cropping up etc. etc. there’s always a few posts from us. Some are actually helpful! The tactics themselves aren’t actually secret, so if you want more information, just ask someone.

Also, I’d like to point out I made over 400 scoops this week just using my visits intelligently solo-playing. No klan raids required, though they do help…

I think the problem is that it allows you to effectively make a level-cap Re-re/Permanoob with very little effort at all (well, apart from the scripting of the thing), which is hardly fair to all the people who have managed it themselves. Really it should be banned from all sorts of e-peen, especially the consecutive ones and any leaderboard things (not that that’ll ever be a problem, but in principle… ) which is basically what a cheater account is.

What’s wrong with marking it as a cheater anyway? It’s not using the normal cheating options, but it is cheating, since it could theoretically beat the game without any user input.

That said, if you can come up with something capable of running individual forums, repairing damage, buying items and whatever, then I think it should be allowed, just under special terms. Same applies if you’re just making a script to beat forums and nothing else.
