I think clbum-restriction (i.e. trolls play trolls, emo kids play emo kids, etc) should be enforced. Otherwise if you can just rp as whatever you want it’s essentially the same as RP right now, only with a very small and ambiguous difference, so that would be pointless to implement. I think the only exception is if you’re playing an obvious “novelty” character you should act as that character.

What’s going to ruin it is people just RPing bad, and you can’t (or shouldn’t) really ban somebody who didn’t break the rules just because they suck at RP. I think, were it possible, an excellent idea would be limiting the number of posts people could make in a style similar to buildr and buildr score. Like an RP score for example, maybe based on up votes down votes. Essentially gentlemen, what I am proposing is a buildr/flamebate hybrid, one of infinite possibility, a likes of which this world has never seen.

If this were put in place to the OP’s specifications it will very quickly degenerate into the same thing as RP is now.
