I would argue that any mod who has been in service less than 6 months must have the agreement of a senior mod or admin before the ban is put into effect. This practice would not only keep a few of the new mods in better check than they have been, but also make it readily apparent to admins which mods are overstepping their bounds before it causes a community uproar.

Honestly, with very obvious exceptions like goatse, I’ve been seeing a *lot* of this. There’s a lot more communication going on behind the scenes than most people seem to think…
