The emotes are relatively small. An equal number of screen-sized goatse’s, for example, or just 2045-pixel tall blank images, or seizure animations…

Yeah. User-provided images could be a lot more annoying, repeated, than emoticons.

Also, the lack of emoticon limit has been crucial to an RP thread or two over in GOTO 10. It’s silly and pointless… but so’s most of RP.
