Critical hits wouldn’t boost defense; they’d increase damage against you. It would be like every now and then a forum ignores some of your defense and does a whole bunch of extra damage to you.

I kind of like the idea, but it will negatively affect things like Dom and peenwhoring if people aren’t able to properly calculate their risks in forums and start dying (in the middle of a raid, or a pistachio run, or whatever).
