Didn’t Maj. spacekadt tell you? Here’s where we stand.
Tracking reported 10 minutes ago that contact G14 had split in two. Currently, both pieces are still in the re-entry phase, and their manoeuvring is erratic, making it hard to predict exactly where they will impact. Our greatly reduced budget means that our equipment isn’t working at full capacity, but as far as we can tell, Piece Alpha (the left cheek) is about 30m wide and weighs in the vicinity of 10 tons, while piece Bravo is 16m wide and 8 tons. Re-entry appears to have burned away a large part of Goatse 14, but what’s left is going to impact on the Forumz. Alpha looks to be headed for the Marketplace, and Bravo will hit the state’s main data centre within the hour. We anticipate the first impact will release the equivalent of a 3 1 megaton Flame, with casualties in the dozens. Similar casualties for Bravo, with a .75 megaton Flame equivalent. I sort of wish I had applied for a more lofty position, but I’m just glad I’m able to be a part of this mission. Even though the part may be a small one.
