New Card DiscussionYou -do- play shields, though. The act of playing a shield equips it. And you’ve got to equip the first one before they auto-re-equip. (view post) |

New Card DiscussionGiving the person with the least amount of scoops ten more is interesting, and much more opposite, and I like the idea, as long as it’s revised to “the person with the fewest scoops that isn’t one of your alts”. (view post) |

New Card DiscussionRicket Posted: Switch two other random columns. dobnits Posted: Shields prevent the next attack directed at a player from hitting them. The opposite of that is to force the next attack to hit the player in question. (view post) |

New Card DiscussionI propose the following: Easy Come, Easy Go Take three scoops of your choice from a player, then give them one scoop of your choice from your stockpile.
If/when Fibonnaci is implemented, this would be really interesting, IMO.
Sequestered Prevent a player in your bracket from receiving scoops of the flava of your choice for one hour. Cannot be played on Wednesdays.
Reversal Make the next card played in your bracket do the opposite of what was intended.
An bumhole would give (what are they at these days, 10?) scoops to the person with the highest total, Peeping Tom would reveal your cards to the bracket (using the stall), Shield would instead force the next attack to hit the shielded player. (view post) |

What's Going On In the Gameplay Tune-Up?It’s been almost a month and a half since the Gameplay Tune-Up’s first wave of testers were given their initial bumignment. What have we been up to in that time? I’ll tell you. The first week’s tests involved logging in to the test server, and prompted Evil Trout to shut down some “crucial” (read: not crucial) services, because some pranksters thought it would be funny to take popular names on the test server. The second week’s tests involved a thread casting a negative status effect (debuff) on the player, and a retool of the way lemon scoops are earned. The new status effect, called Ad Hominem, deals persistent damage to the player, and is cured by a new drug, currently called Remember-Not. The lemon formula wasn’t so hot. The third week’s tests involved making sure that Ad Hominem works properly in all situations, and introduced a battle log that keeps track of what has happened to you during the forum battle. Moreover, the lemon scoop formula was greatly improved, and time and thread count will no longer be factors in trying to earn your three yellows per visit. Furthermore, a new type of collectable was introduced: fans. You gain fans when you pwn fora, and lose them during rollover. The full formula for how you lose fans has yet to be discovered, but it has been noted that you lose fewer fans while you are streaking. (People like naked people, apparently.) The fourth week introduced an ability called AFK that increases your defense, but does nothing else. The ability has no cooldown, and at the time, had no seeming value in pwning. This was offset when Evil Trout introduced some new thread debuffs, each of which “inactivates” all of your abilities by a number of turns (1, 3 or 6 on the test server). These are prevented beforehand by consumables purchased in von Neumann’s. The current week introduces consumable decay. Consumables that go unused for a period of time go bad, decaying into junk items that then decay into other junk items. At present, some interesting junk items have been discovered, and there may be more to be found. And that’s what we’ve been up to over on the test server. (view post) |

Wait, so if an apprentice gets banned...Can we Thread Dead! this please? (view post) |

Wait, so if an apprentice gets banned...That then heavily limits what the person can be asked to do or, in some cases, sign up for, reducing the effectiveness of the person further.
If a task were given, for example, to come up with three characters with different voices that needed to interact for the purposes of a storyline mission, one person might come up with the scenario and three separate people would be asked to write for each of the characters. All of the people involved in writing the mission would need to consult with each other, for clarification, suggestions and suchlike.
One person could probably try to do all of it himself (or herself), but would come up with something far less interesting than the four people working together. (view post) |

Wait, so if an apprentice gets banned...Part of the job of an Apprentice is working with other Apprentices, as well as the Auditors and Advisors. If a person proves himself (or herself) to be incapable of working with others, or gives off a vibe whereby they cannot be worked with, it is probably best for that person to be removed as an Apprentice before any real work needs to be done. I may have figured out what's wrong with the itembuildr codeAs much as I hate point-buy systems, this could work incredibly well, given a decent interface for designing items. Furthermore, with the amount of build points being generated every run, you could be forced to make a low-end item or a high-end item, which would be good for players across the board. (view post) |

General Input & Discussion Regarding FlameBate Forum RulesDo you think we could get an “Unban!” forum (in CD, so that people can be reasonable with their reasoning) for players to make their pleas? Personally, I get annoyed by seeing pages of “Unban XYZ” all over the place, and I think it would be easier on you moderators if those sorts of things were centralized. (view post) |

A Q&A podcast with Jalapeno BootyholeWhen brushing your hair in the morning after a long night of rigorous sex, do you find it easier to comb from the left, from the right or straight down the middle?
Obviously, I know the hypothetical night has never come to pbum, but I’d still like to know if you comb from the left, the right or the middle. (view post) |

Flamebate changes: Official Feedback ThreadOn the left, a list of discussions and fora that are for talking about the game and the site in a reasonable, respectable manner. Weighing in at OVER 9000 posts, it’s … CIVIL DISCUSSION. Applause, applause.
And on the right, a collection of silly topics, ranging from people anonymously posting ”’sup Cid” to interviewing Ricket about things to holding contests and generally having fun. All your base are belong to … General Role Playing.
And be vewwy vewwy qwiet… At the tawp of the screen, we have secret fowums to look at… Shhhhhh.
It’s a considerably easier layout than, “Ooh, hey, some topics to click on. Hey, this seems amusing. ‘OMGROFLOLYOUSUCK!!!’ Wait a second, why the hell was I banned? Oh shi-... Game discussion thread.” (view post) |
