That song is awful.

Also don’t they just bleep the word? They don’t ban the song. I know they even bleep out the word “gun” in some song I can’t recall right now. There is a reason sensible people don’t listen to the radio.

There are two edits to Money for Nothing; the radio edit, and the original, which is like seven and a half minutes long. The radio edit has a much shorter intro and cuts out the verse that uses the word fabulous person entirely. It’s been playing on Canadian and American radio stations since the song was released.

The reason this is now news (sort of) is because on clbumic rock stations, they’ve been airing the original cut of the song, with the gigantic self-masturbatory intro and the fabulous persony verse. Most people growing up with this being played on the radio don’t even know the word fabulous person is in the song.

Now they’ve banned clbumic rock stations from playing the original edit. I don’t know why they’ve suddenly decided on it, but whatever. If anything, it’s saying that becoming a fabulous person gives you free chicks.

The station is just being fabulous persony because they refuse to play edited songs. They could play the edited version if they wanted to.

Not the radio edit though, they have a moral standard that must be upheld.
