this has probably been asked before but it’s a known fact that there are users that post/lurk that are under the age of 18, so i’m curious as to the legality of letting users post porn, nude photography and shock without an “i am 18 years of older and am able to see to illicit images” warning and agreement.

for all i know it’s in your ToC or there’s some legal loophole but i am curious, so any answer is appreciated

also i understand having a warning would be moot because i have been seeing those things since i was 12 and it never stopped me from clicking on them, but meh

notice how this said legality, not morality. i don’t care that it’s posted and that kids see it, i’m wondering what national and international laws have to say about it. most sites have a warning page as i mentioned or a bold header stating “we are not responsible for the content posted here; by viewing or posting, you verify you are 18 years of age or above”.

if you don’t have any immediate warning of questionable or adult material, to my knowledge, it’s illegal to present it then, even though a site can’t really be held accountable for what a user posts

but also, that’s still morality; saying ‘i am not easily offended’ isn’t the same thing as saying ‘i am 18 and can legally view pornography’. pictures that have swastikas and dead jews on it is offensive (to most i bumume) but it’s not illegal for a child to see.

they also give the government and the law a big **** you by saying “you must be 18 years or older to view this page” somewhere in the fine print at the bottom, or just blatant to make it even more interesting

i’m not even trying to make new rules because there’s no members around to follow them, i am just curious on the laws that apply to this. if you don’t say “warning this contains pornography” and a child goes onto the site without the intention or even the awareness that they may see pornography, i don’t see how it’s legal. case in point, alvin greene’s current felony case:

i don’t understand how this applies any differently on forumwarz, especially when it’s a minor, making it a felony in the united states

i don’t ever remember specifically agreeing and consenting to viewing pornography or nudity in any RP board either, or having the site/the RP section of the site declared 18+, or being provided with a copy of the site’s ToC that says ‘by signing up you consent that you are 18 and can legally view pornography”

another thing: who cares if the kids are uncomfortable with seeing it, this is a civil discussion about the laws that apply to the site and the game, i made that clear in my first two posts in this thread. i get that no 16 year old kid has a problem with seeing a naked women or said woman getting crammed for lack of a better word, but that doesn’t make it legal to make it available to them without affirming they are 18 (and yes, it’s illegal to click “i am 18” when you aren’t but that doesn’t stop 99% of middle school boys and up)
