Nothing new here, it’s just a pyramid scheme – you pay a dollar, and supposedly people line up to pay you a dollar… then you join the next level of the pyramid by paying more money upwards.

Someone, somewhere, could make some money out of this. But most of it will be from a long line of people putting a dollar in, on the basis that it’s a minimal amount to lose if it’s a scam. Maybe also some advertising revenue (I have a feeling that “people who take part in pyramid schemes” and “people who use Adblock” don’t have a very large intersection)
