More often than not, I’m seeing rounds of INCIT being constantly thwarted by 3 way ties or more. Honestly, this is a waste of time to play if this problem keeps coming up every few minutes.

Here’s my idea – why not have the tied submissions put into a vote of their own if this happens and make it last something like 15 seconds with no disqualification if they don’t vote? If the users don’t vote anything at all on sudden death then the round ends with no winners.

Is this a good idea and easy to implement or not?

It’s not a big deal. A new round starts immediately. Be funnier if you want to win instead of tie, imo.

Except “new round starts immediately” is an overstatement. Keep in mind every single friggin’ round takes 5 whole minutes. Last night we had 3 ties in a row at least once; that time starts adding up real fast. The game is too slow to allow for this much time to be wasted on ties.

Obv. soloution is to make it so that h0g writes a backlog of INCIT enteries and they just deal those out 1 by 1 every INCIT round and have him win automatically.

There is no known patch for the stupidity of the human mind.

Infact, I had another idea. Why not make it more harder for the round to fall into a 3+ way tie scenario. For example, you could give the users more than one vote, (lets say 3 for now) and let the laws of probability do the rest.

I agree if ties are stupid enough to have sexual intercourse with their mothers then yes they would be mentally challenged. You have not provided any proof that ties have sexual intercourse with their mothers so therefore until proof has been given I cannot believe your statement.

I agree there should be something to deal with ties, and this idea might work.

Things like this should be avoidable.

So your solution to wasting time with ties is to waste more time doing a tiebreaker? That would mean games go from lasting 5 minutes to however long the tiebreaker is for. If it’s set up so people just vote on the same pictures again, everyone’s just going to vote for the one they voted on before, and you’ll get the same result. And if you have the tiebreaker be the tied guys re-doing their picture, that’s another 2-3 min. wasted, and the only difference between that and a normal round is nobody else but 3-4 people can participate.

Bad idea, imo. The whole “let people get more than 1 vote” thing is awkward too, because if you can vote for the same picture more than once, everybody with alts is just going to log on using another browser/proxy/whatever and dump all their alt’s votes into their picture. (Unless ET fixed that in the months I’ve been gone, which is entirely possible.) If you can’t vote a pic more than once, everyone’s just going to dump vote into ****ty pics, which puts us back at square 1, except now there are more votes.

I Propose that there be some kind of incentive for voting on the winning poster. This would hopefully stop people from dump voting.

Giving out scoops to voters would skew the value of winning, Maybe you could win some FLEZZ for voting on the winning poster.

I don’t get how this will stop dumpvoting. “Dumpvoted posters” can still be “winning posters”
