I tried a search and found nothing about re-zipping files, has anyone considered the possibility of being able to re-zip and split .moar files back into one of each piece for storage purposes?

As it stands we have an item limit but no .moar piece limit and since we’re storing the number of pieces for each file already as it is, unless we go over the already allocated bits for each (even 8-bit is 255) it shouldn’t even take up more server space. This way people can collect all of the files in a nice alphabetically organized manner even if we can’t see their stats until we extract.

Of course we could only do so with fully repaired files and I wouldn’t even mind having to pay some flezz to run a “Virus scan” or to pay for each zip if some sort of limitation was desired.

Any thoughts?

I was thinking more something like WinSplit which would put them back into pieces, but zipping is actually a good idea too.

I love the idea of seeing zip files of 132 files of Andy male reproductive organ floating around Kyoubai as people work on collecting the biggest collection for ****s and giggles. Though that brings up whether or not you can zip different types of files or not. Your idea only involves the pwn shoppe it looks like, which would essentially boil down to stacking .moars as far as I see it but that would be good too.

Anything that speeds up extracting/selling moars by allowing you to do stuff to them en mbume would just streamline the process and make everyone’s day less ****ty when they remember they’ve been pwning for a while without extracting anything, and now have dozens or hundreds of files they want to get shot of.

Bundling files for sale on Kyoubai would change the sale dynamics at least a bit, possibly a lot if it takes off – if you can’t get hold of file X without deciding which other file(s) you want to buy with it, and each set is going at a different price because different people want different files, then it could shake **** up. I for one would be waiting to see the final sale price for the first uber-pack to combine a pink floyd, blood spatter art, useless program, riprogrammatori/****.milf and incit photos…

Allowing you to break files back into their pieces would be nice, not sure how it would impact game mechanics but probably not a lot beyond allowing you to store a lot of stuff without having to worry about extracting stuff and being stuck with it in your inventory thereafter.
