yeah, I’m stuck with the text based adventure game and would like any hints you guys can give me.

I reckon I’ve been spoiled for choice with Bioshock and it’s ability to do anything.
I found myself typing out long sentences to try and get out of the cupboard like:
“Reach down and turn handle to open the door of the cupboard.” lol

The game is a lot like Keanu Reeves. Simple. Keep your commands to an action, then a target. Actions such as use, open, and push are helpful. Type in a direction to move in that direction(Limit it to N, E, W, S). |

I would say “use the FAQ”, but that actually doesn’t apply to this situation.
Anyway, just use simple commands. Anyway, as for something that hasn’t been mentioned – try using synonyms.
