What? Your logic makes no sense. You do have to put money in the pot, yes, but as long as you’re entered you have a one in three chance of winning since the outcome will always either be one, two or three, three outcomes.

EDIT: I really want to keep this thread clean so it contains mostly numbers so it makes things easier in three days.

If there are n participants:

Total prize = n bp

Number of winners = n / 3 (on average)

Each winner’s prize = n / (n / 3) = 3 bp

Chance of winning prize = 1/3

So if you join, your expected outcome is:

1/3 * 3bp – 1bp (entrance fee) = 0 bp

Meaning, if you join this contest many times, on average you will win 0bp. As good as a coin flip.

I will not use or spend the BP but in 3 days (25th of February), I will choose a random number with a random number generator, one, two or three and I will divide the BP I have been given from everyone to give to everyone who guessed the winning number so you have about a one in three chance of possibly doubling, tripling or quadrupling your investment, the more people join, the bigger the prize is!
