Haha, cool.
I’d probably have a Zune too if they sold them over here since I’ve been through 3 iPods now…though my iPod 80gb has been amazing, had none of the problems with it that I’ve had with my other 30gbs and I’ve had it for quite a while now. |

Quite surprised any Zune users got them to work at all to begin with. Buggy as hell bloated software (at least iTunes can only be called “Bloated”Log in to see images!, crappy interface, flimsy crap. I had the displeasure of having to try setting one up for someone once. Hours later I still couldn’t get it to be recognized by the computer… let alone the principally insane fact that it uses what can only be considered a “third party program” – it doesn’t even use Windows Media Player like any sane person would expect. No, Microsoft’s own flagship MP3 player doesn’t use Microsoft’s iTunes equivalent, it uses some kind of buggy and hacked-together “zune player” software.
Eughhh… uh… [/rant]

In the zunes defense this is the only problem I have had with it since I received it last year, while in the same time frame I went through three ipods the previous year.
Doesn’t change the current situation though. |

If you’re interested the problem was found.
The Zune did not factor in leap years, so according to the Zune yesterday didn’t exist.
I ****ing love machine logic. |

so, zune says to let battery drain, plug in unit after noon on january 1, 2009, and recharge, and it’ll be all set. problem solved.
at least for the next 4 years Log in to see images!

Haha I was reading about this on other forums. Interesting logic behind the crash.
Once again, a catastrophe that could have been prevented with better test cases. (I spent the last semester doing ‘hurp how to debug this program’ in college where the point of the course was “spend time/money and **** off your sponsor but release a perfect program) |
