Here is an impermeable box full of marbles: X How do you alter its contents without alerting insiders? BY DEFINITION, to affect this box, he MUST obey the rules of matter, of physics, which makes it impossible without alerting insiders! To be able to affect our world, you must abide by its rules!
P.S You are the one who called me dumb. You are the one who dismissed my argument. DarkDespair5 edited this message on 12/06/2008 10:02PM |

u said 1. god creates rules for everything else to follow 2. god has its own rules
how do these different rules coexist without problems? |

Debug Mode would alert observers. We have the notion of time.

There is no way to alter the contents of the box without alerting the insiders. For changes of the box to occur, they must be recognized by someone or something besides the one that put them there. Thus, changes haven’t really occurred until the insiders notice the changes. Thus, changes can’t be made without the insiders noticing. |

BirdofPrey Posted: Yes. We would. How could he change things without us noticing after time restarted? What arcane art is he using to modify our world while being exempt from its rules? How could he access the contents of our universe while modifying it in-place? |

you never explained where you get this idea from that you need to operate within the laws of a system to interact with it. |

a developer of a computer simulation does not have to operate within the laws of his simulation to change things in it. |

if this god operates outside of the laws he creates for us then what laws does he abide by?
if he had nothing to abide by, why r we getting screwed over by our politicians and their bad decisions?
if God existed, then he would stop that from happening |

but the things in the computer simulation are not real life, sentient beings
in the previous case, god must change the world, but must do so without us noticing which is impossible |

if u do not operate within the laws of the system, how can u know about things that must operate with those laws?
ie how can god control our world if he isn’t among us? |

Yes, but he operates within a set of rules that allow this interaction. Any intelligence within the device could tell whether it was manipulated. We are intelligent and autonomous, the computer simulation is not.
