MY MEMORY IS THAT OF A SMALL GRAPE

If you recall, I make coilguns.

The last one I made didn’t have a very good coil, so i made a bunch of new ones to test stuff about coils.

Trying with length of coil, number of turns, diameter of coil, etc.

I’ve still got a bit more testing to do but so far the max velocity of the projectile achieved was 15 meters per second. 55 kilometers per hour baby.

Sadly a bullet is like thousands of times faster.

In terms of actual efficiency, the gun stores 30 Joules of electric energy. It fires the projectile (1 gram steel ball) with .11 joules of kinetic energy Log in to see images!

.3% efficient. If I used a steel rod it’d be much higher, but screw spending 3 hours grinding down a rod when i can buy 250 balls for 5 bucks in less than 5 minutes.

Hopefully with more tweaking it can get up to maybe 1% efficiency, bu for now it’s still good.
