FAIL makes avatars for you! Here’s a job for you. It’s a pretty simple idea but I have no clue how technically difficult it is. I’ll give you 2 BP if you think that’s a fair price.

It’s probably obvious what I want you to do, but just in case it isn’t clear, I’d like Ron Paul’s face shooped into the Mona Lisa. You don’t have to keep the moustache, I just cropped the DML because it was convenient.
EDIT: 1 BP sent. I’ve never transferred BP to anyone before so I don’t know if it worked right, but I definitely have one less BP in my balance. (view post) |

Domination Enhancements ThreadPickled male reproductive organbum Posted:
It’s not the lack of communication that’s important in this case, it’s the deceit and the issue of payout.
Say that you have a bracket with only four characters which are owned by four different players, and the characters are all in the same Klan. Since there are four characters, at least one of them is not going to get any medals.
Let’s say first of all that despite the fact that they’re technically helping their competitors in addition to themselves, the four go ahead and raid together as usual. They all get hundreds of scoops, and they’re all still competitive with each other at the end of the week. The big expected battle for scoops breaks out and the winners get the spoils, as usual.
Now let’s say that they all agree not to raid. They don’t get as many scoops, but they still compete with each other based on other scoop-grabbing methods, and have the same battle at the end of the week. The situation is fundamentally the same whether or not they raid; despite the fact that some players are better at solo play than raiding and vice versa, it makes essentially no difference in the general case.
Now let’s say that something far more likely happens—they all agree not to raid but one player breaks the agreement. He gets hundreds of scoops and easily wins the round, and the other players don’t get ****. He might get kicked out of the Klan, but so what? There are other Klans out there, some of which don’t know what he did and others that surely realize (possibly through hard experience) that agreements not to raid are a fool’s bargain.
In conclusion, collusion only works when the benefits of colluding are greater than the benefits of not colluding, and the penalties for breaking collusion are sufficiently great to discourage it. In this case of colluding against raiding, neither of these things is true. In fact, in a real Domination bracket agreeing not to raid would actually be worse because the other people in the bracket could more easily beat the people who aren’t raiding. (view post) |

Domination Enhancements ThreadHot damn, I didn’t even notice this thread until now. Great stuff, too bad it came after the Charisma fix (meaning that I’m going to grind Cred first). But I guess it’s OK for me not to play anyway, since apparently one big problem hasn’t been fixed yet:

It should be zero.
BTW, it’d also be nice if you kept alts from being used to help out mains at all (i.e. non-Klan alts would no longer be able to change the pwnership of a forum to non-Klan, making 12-11-12 harder). But that’s not nearly as annoying.
BTW again, there’s a very simple reason why the rules changes are unlikely to lead to Klanmates agreeing not to raid if they’re in the same bracket. (view post) |

Noooooo! Streaking!meeeeeeeeee Posted:
Just warn the person who’s planning on minrepairing that his junk is going to be randomly sold (or sold using a best-fit algorithm) as necessary until the cost of the repair is met or the person runs out of junk. He can just back out and sell junk manually if he doesn’t want that to happen. (view post) |

Noooooo! Streaking!A really easy way to fix the junk-hoarding version of this is to force characters to sell any available junk to meet the total repair costs. You know, sort of like how a bank takes away your **** when you can’t pay off a loan. You could also stop using the junk system altogether but I think it fits the theme of the game too well to do that.
As for hoarding consumables, that doesn’t even count as an exploit in my mind. It’s always been considered acceptible for noobs to buy what consumables and repairs they can when they’re broke, so it doesn’t clearly cirgreat timesvent any game rules. And it’s not very useful either; you’ll never have money for anything that suddenly comes up, so you have to sell the consumables you bought for big losses even at 6 Frugality. If someone wants to do that just so he can get the Cred E-Peen, then he can go ahead. Meanwhile, I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing and end up getting that E-Peen eventually anyway. (view post) |

Your thoughts on the latest updates?SG94 Posted:
I like it in the sense of testing builds, but I don’t like it in the sense of actually playing the game. There should be real consequences for changing the fundamental traits of your character.
And yeah, what we really need right now is yet another way for catbumers to dominate Domination, this time by going with raid-oriented stats on game weeks and grind-oriented stats on non-game weeks. (view post) |

I bet this ruined a few people’s weeks. Good thing CZ also basically removed the penalties for respeccing (which I don’t agree with, BTW), otherwise the cheaters might have been in pretty serious trouble. (view post) |

Well, part of the bitterness is that there actually was a Fallout 3 in development that was like the first two in every way, but Interplay canceled it as a desperation move after that company turned into **** and started hemorrhaging funds. (view post) |

Leaderboards need a revamp.I’d just like to note that unless you’re cheating, there’s no way you could do better than two or three days of grinding Faux News for every week or so of grinding PrayPal with a DML-equipped Troll.
Relatedly, I should have an update to my Troll guide up in the next few days. (view post) |

Fallout 3, the fans, and a community worse than forumwarz.Reading the subject line made me know you were either talking about NMA or RPG Codex. The specific mention of Fallout 3 instead of one of the Gothic games made me lean towards NMA, though rest bumured that RPG Codex has a huge fetish for Fallout and a mbumive bias against Bethesda too.
The gameplay in the trailer reminded me of Mbum Effect. That’s not such a horrible comparison, is it?
EDIT: From that Wired article: “The key problem with the game though is in the writing. It really feels like someone wrote a fanfic based on the Fallout universe and somehow got the funding to create a game based on it.”
You mean like Fallout 2? (view post) |
