Kingdom of LoathingIt is possible to try out the other clbumes later, so there’s no need to make an extra account for each clbum, especially not if you’re complaining that the game is too time-consuming for you. Plus there are all kinds of rules that forbid sending items and Meat between those accounts, so you’re probably better off with just one, but do as you wish. (view post) |

Kingdom of LoathingI’m not talking about meatfarming – that’s really not profitable at all in the game’s current state. What you do is find a farmable item that people are looking for. For example, tattered scraps of paper have been in high demand since the advent of Hobopolis, so going into the Haunted Library and olfacting bookbats would be a good idea. The economy fluctuates though, so there is no definite way to do it.
If you can’t stand farming, investments are the way to go. The monthly items *always* go up in price given enough time, and this can be used to your advantage. (view post) |

Kingdom of LoathingSeriously, there’s no need to be fanboys. I like both games but for very different reasons. In KoL I hardly ever visit the forums or chat, but I play the game itself almost every day. Here at FWZ the game itself sucks bum but the community is awesome. These two complement each other.
Plus you can get any IotM you want if you farm well, play the market et cetera. I didn’t donate anything for several years when I started playing, but I still managed to afford several monthly familiars and a few pieces of equipment that I invested in and sold later for huge profit. There’s even a new ascension type now that offers a totally level playing field, although it takes some effort to unlock it. (view post) |

Mafia here?Hm… I don’t agree with the “no Mafia communication” rule. It was designed for real-life play and is impossible to enforce here, so we should work around it.
Also, do we want to reveal the identity of eliminated players or not? Most of the forum games I’ve played revealed the role upon death, though I can understand how keeping it a mystery would be interesting. (view post) |

Mafia here?I did not foresee the possibility of collusion. However, the prize I had in mind was something like: if Mafia wins, all of them including dead Mafia get 2 BP each; if the innocents win, all of them including dead innocents get 1 BP. It’s not a lot of BP for people to split among themselves. And of course they are opening themselves up to the possibility of the other person in the collusion either lying or betraying them and not giving the BP.

Mafia here?So I was thinking about holding a game of Mafia here in this forum, possibly with BP prizes to the winning team. How many would be interested in playing? It’s only in the idea stage and I haven’t decided yet.
I’m not sure how to handle the possibility of alts. Maybe I could contact ET or Banhammer before the game begins and let them verify that none of the participants are each other’s alts. I am reluctant to rely only on honesty if there is BP involved.
Another problem would be how to arrange discussion within the Mafia. They need some form of private communication to be successful. Obviously they can’t start a klan because everyone would see it. Maybe they could find themselves a chat or a forum in some other place? Also the game master (me) would want to hear their votes on who to kill during the Night.
Is this a good idea? Are there any more problems I should be aware of, if I were to go through with it? (view post) |
