There’s also evidence that the whole thing would make more sense as an extended parable; various inconsistencies between the story and known facts, some of the earliest christian writings talking about jesus as a purely divine figure (not as a guy who was strolling around Terra Firma shortly before), a lot of the important places in the story showing no signs of having been settled at the time in question…
But it was 2000+ years ago, the only honest answer is “who ****ing knows?”. Dude could have been some wandering rabbi type, or a composite of several people, or an imaginary figure for fun and profit.
