eating “Old Fashioned” oatmeal, instead of “Quick Oats” has the added health benefit of taking longer for your body to digest. the quick oats are processed, and broken down. they are also cooked for a shorter amount of time so less enzymes are broken down, leaving them with a high glycemic index, which in turn will spike your blood sugar more, and make you feel hungy again sooner than you normally would.
Old Fashioned oats however take longer to digest, leaving you with that full feeling longer, burns more calories during digestion (as it takes longer), and has a lower glycemic index.
