I’m not saying that reaction face guy isn’t funny and all.

but how come when someone else posts 4chan **** its always “LOLOL GET THAT 4CHAN **** OUTTA HERE” but when someone popular does it its “ahah this is good thread”

4chan’s whole philosophy of “When you have Anonymous posters, people look at the content of a post and not who posts it” is entirely vindicated by Flamebait, which has a virtually distinct (and aloof) identity from the audience who just plays the game.

But, it’s sort of understandable, because 4chan’s mbumes aren’t universally creative. INCIT is a lasting testament to this truth.

At the very least, a popular poster is already known to be intelligent and creative, and even when they’re not funny, it’s understood that thought went into their responses and the lack of impact is glazed over because even great comedians have tepid jokes from time to time.

It’s harder to tell with someone who just posts borrowed memes. You don’t know if they’re trying to find a voice and only know memes so they post what they know, or are lazy and are just reposting things to gain recognition. It becomes easy to give into the stereotypes.
