It’s not like a bunch of bad guys trying to steal your soul. It’s not the devil you need to worry about, it’s Mr. Krabs. They want comatose consumers who are uninformed because making people like that is most efficient way for them to give up their money. Efficiency is what is important to them because it’s less cost more profit. Morality and ethics are of no importance unless they can be used to somehow make money.
