Unaligned/Neutral: Unlocks RWOX CVDK OAAX
For your last move, you run the Gatecrasher program. You open the floodgates, exposing Shallow Esophagus to its highly interested competitors.
With full access to Sentrillion’s most protected data, the swarm of Geronimo employees grab whatever info they can before Sentrillion’s engineers have a chance to patch up their security breach.
The Geronimo brbum are very pleased about the outcome, and you’re paid handsomely for your efforts.
Now, with Shallow Esophagus exposed like a blonde turtle flipped on its back, bits of and pieces of the technology behind it start showing up everywhere.
Geronimo comes out with its own fairly buggy version of an AI; a couple of Geronimo’s hackers come out with their own open-source version that works great but nobody uses; and even a couple of former Sentrillion VPs come out with an alternative AI themselves called “Nìot” — apparently pronounced “neat” — though it’s widely panned by critics for spewing out irrelevant data and failing to recognize its own existence.
As for Sentrillion itself, after a bit of downtime, the “Einstein” project (as it came to be called) continues moving forward.
You keep an interested eye on it throughout its lifespan; it becomes a fairly successful venture for the search giant.
After several years, it becomes so entrenched into Sentrillion’s products that nobody even notices whether there’s an AI there or not. It just becomes “the Internet” to most casual surfers, although the competition keeps it from becoming a monopoly.
In general, AI-bumisted search is a pretty good business, but it’s generally not as profitable as AI-bumisted porn.
Online gaming becomes much more interesting though: You can interact with truly intelligent NPCs that respond to you in real time, essentially making up a unique story as you go along. Games that you thought were pre-scripted are generated on the fly.
In fact, the line between reality and virtual reality becomes so blurred, you almost grow nostalgic for your days of pwning forums, which was the last “real” experience you can remember.
Imagine that.
You even start to think you should get a customized t-shirt to commemorate the whole thing. And you can get a really cool one right now at zazzle.com/forumwarz! Nìot, huh? |
