When I was in the Corps, we actually had a CO named Colonel enjoy, but the e had that little thing on top, so it was pronounced ‘Rah-pay’. This first thing we had to tell the FNGs when they got to the unit was how to pronounce his name. He got super-****ed if you said it wrong.
