1. Gather the items that you will need.

You will of course need to find a willing child to play a game with you, as well as a gaming system to play the game on. (Example: Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, etc.)

2. Choose the game carefully.

When choosing a game, be sure to choose one that your child does not already own, as they will already know more about the game than you will ever know. Instead, purchase a new game that your child has never seen before.

3. Have late night practice sessions.

When your child is safely tucked in bed, and sleeping, take the opportunity to practice up on the game. Read the manual that came with the game, learn what all the controls do.

4. Find some cheats.

Cheats, or cheat codes, are secret codes that the creator of the game has installed with the game. Possible cheats would include things like: unlimited money, ultimate strength, super agility, etc.

5. Replace controllers.

Replace your child’s existing controller with a cheap, low quality controller – ensure that you have a high quality controller.

6. Psych your child out.

Just before you begin to play the game, threaten to cut your child’s allowance, mention a possible visit by the weird relative who gives him the creeps or whatever it is that may psych your child out. Your child will need to be flustered if you want to have any chance at victory!

7. If all else fails, use the pause trick.

If, even after following the rest of these tricks, you find yourself losing on game day, begin coughing or sneezing and pause the game. Well the game is paused, ask your child to go get you a glbum of water. When your child is out getting a glbum of water, resume the game and continue playing – this will give you a lead in the game.
