You can make the graphs say what you like, depending on what range you choose. This is the 7 year graph.

Note how it dumped value on September 11th (and recovered it all back).

Note how the second “hump” almost mirrors the first “trough”.

The FTSE could easily touch the mid 3500’s before it recovers (it closed today at 4818). The day to day movements are very misleading, even on days / weeks like this.
