Maybe. The only reasons I see it wouldn’t happen would be if the game never gets popular enough for the incentive to be there, or if it’s prevented. All of these actions could be automated. Someone would want to automate them – just because it’s a cool thing to do and consequences are for someone else to deal with. All you did was prove the concept, and thus open the box with the nasty things inside.
