Spiderman is introduced as an orphaned science whiz kid teenager living with his aunt and uncle in the suburbs. He is a brilliant student but the subject of mockery by his peers who regard him as a bookworm. One day he gets bitten by a radioactive spider during a science demonstration. He gains spider-like powers such as super-strength the ability to climb walls and a phenomenal jumping skill. Peter’s own cleverness enables him to develop gadgets that fire webbing.
