Because the majority of players are out of reach of the top spots and can’t keep up with the elite few who actually spend their lives caring about this crappy game.
A reset would even the playing field.

But if you don’t have time to devote to achieving the top status, then why do you care about the top status? A reset will wind up in the same place: it won’t magically give you more time in your day than those players, that’s a factor of your life, not FWZ.
So in short order, they’ll be back to the top, ‘cause they have the time to do it, and everyone else will be where they are right now. |

Not a bad idea. Plus, since apparently there’s A LOT OF CHANGES IN EP. 2, resetting everyone lets us experience that. Plus even playing field when trolls get unnerfed |
