I recently played through Half-Life 2 for the first time, and it is a quality video game. The absence of cut-scenes for the majority of the game is a pleasant departure from industry standard and makes the story a little more compelling.

I don’t really play war-simulation games, so I can’t make a comparison. I do prefer unreal to source, but that’s probably due to familiarity more than anything. The vast majority of my fps play has been on some iteration of the unreal engine.
