Everyone knows if you have a pet goldfish and you feed it too much it dies. So how do they even exist in the wild, because you would think every time they found a significant source of food they would just eat and eat until they died.

also overfeeding usually kills them because of the waste products be it excess food rotting or excess poop clogging up the world. it throws off the chemicals in the water and makes them get sick and die.

i had goldfish in a pond that grew to be about as wide as a potato they were so fat, but they were healthy happy guys until a tree dropped leaves in and it rotted out the water and everything died from lack of oxygen

IDK, tubs I think they can die just from eating too much, not from too much **** in the tank.

I would just think if I put a big bum pinch of food in the tank that will kill it. But really a big bum pinch is just big for him, it’s pretty small. You think they’d find food amounts that size in the wild all the time. Say another fish dies, that’s more fish meat than a big bum pinch right there.

I’ve often heard that Goldfish are one of the animals that only get as large as its surroundings. Maybe that has something to do with it.
