The universe being created requires something extant apart from the universe. And, ontologically speaking, this is meaningless. Existence requires the universe as the metaphysical primary. It is, in essence, existence itself. It is the framework in which there is that which is. To demand something apart from the framework is to give up on not only explanation, but coherence and intelligibility.

I don’t think you can battle faith with philosophy, either.

It’s unfortunate that you feel that way. If you truly understood what it means to have faith in something you might feel differently.

It does not mean no rational reason to believe otherwise. Faith is nothing more than substituting a wish for reality. And that is intellectually dishonest and destructive.

Knowing and understanding are two different things. This post illustrates the fact that you don’t really grasp the whole “faith” thing. But that’s ok, there’s nothing wrong with that.
