There are awful, annoying, terrible posters in RP, and many of us feel that they keep a lot of the people that actually contribute comedy to this site away. A few mods (not just Nicco) have expressed frustration over not being able to ban these people from the boards without banning them from everything else. I agree that if you really want to play dom or w/e you shouldn’t be excluded from that because you were annoying in flamebate, but I also don’t feel that I should have to put up with your **** just because you might want to play dom too.

I don’t completely agree. While I think Flamebait is distinct enough to warrant a specific ban from it versus a general global ban from the other features, your logic isn’t a good one. Even if there are terrible posters in RP, if they’re not breaking the rules it’s bad form to simply ban them for being intolerable. Stifling expression in that way could also serve as a deterrent for creativity because people don’t know where the boundaries of acceptable content are anymore. The rules become meaningless, then.

If there are bad posters, it’s up to the community to deal with them, not the mods. Ignore their posts, minimize them (not sure if that works here), ban seeing all posts from that poster (don’t know if this works either) or something along those lines to prevent them from getting attention. That’s really the only way to solve the problem without impacting creativity.

I think it should count as trolling at this point to talk about how the mods will ban for every little annoyance instead of giving warnings to people who are being repetitive and consistently annoying in a disruptive manner and then banning them.
