Dom theme idea - blindmans bluff | |||||||

I was thinking a week where you couldn’t see anyone elses scoops might be interesting. The display would show something like this:
0Log in to see images!
With zeros being no scoops, and Xs covering the exact number. Naturally, you could see your own.
The last minute rush would be interesting.
Thoughts? |

How would cards work? Wouldn’t bumholes show who is the current leader? CrinkzPipe edited this message on 04/04/2009 9:46PM |

Excellent idea swine. The bumhole question is key though, I would just have it say it hit the highest leader.

I thought about that, but, having that information really wouldn’t hurt anything.
Edit – or if it’s a problem, disable it like in some other themes we’ve had swine edited this message on 04/04/2009 9:50PM |

Or modify it to just say “are you sure you want to use this card to destroy 10 scoops from the current leader?” or something like that. |

You need to know if it’s you or not, that is all. Would you be able to see how many cards they have? |

That would be awful.
It would basically force everyone to use all their runs, all everything on the last day to try to ensure the win, but there’d be no strategy involved. You couldn’t see who is a threat, so you couldn’t see who to use cards on, so it’d be a total waste.
Also, without knowing how far in the lead you are, you’d waste runs or something you could’ve otherwise saved for the next week’s bracket.
That’s even worse than Roid Rage, in my opinion. |

Great minds think alike. For some weird reason the same exact idea popped out of my mind yesterday when I saw the top bracket completely wiped. It would be fun Log in to see images! |

I think it would be ok if you could see the number of cards that someone had. That way you kind of have an idea of who is playing in that round. Plus based on the distribution of the cards, you can guess their intentions too. But no guarantee. It would make peeping toms very important. I think it could be fun for a week. |

I think this is an interesting idea. Also, with the introduction of Stray Bullet the Peeping Tom is even more worthless than it was before. Why would you let anyone have cards if you could help it? Anyone who has cards is planning. Anyone who is planning and is not aligned with you should be firebombed. Log in to see images! |

This would be better if melded with an anonymous week where everyone displayed as “anonymous” and all profile links were disabled. Log in to see images! |

I think this is a great idea for a Theme Week.
Yes, it takes some of the tactics out of the way you use cards, but that just highlights the importance of doing well in every discipline (including carding) to make sure that you end up with a good stack of scoops.
It would also be interesting in the fairly high brackets where there are lots of people trying to medal but where ties are allowed. Do you trust someone enough to try for a tie? Do you try to form semi-alliances with other players or other clans so that one of you goes for minimum scoops while the other goes for fave flavour? |

If you want to get a different kind of anonymous, what you could do is have everyone in single player brackets to start for the first 6 days, each named after them so that others could still spy on them. And then once the last 24 hours hits, suddenly throw everyone into proper brackets so that for the entire week, you had no idea what people were planning on doing, what they were going for or what the bracket will look like.
There would be a last minute rush to get cards, form alliances and really just do everything. People could still save visits for a last minute switch. Or what one could do is for the first 6 days, have everyone in the same bracket so that they can still attack each other but then have it break up on the seventh day. That would be hectic like all hell. |
