For the second round of the Forumwarz Idol competition, there will be a special method of song selection. In that round, the song will be selected by YOU! Yes, the community will be able to select the song they want to hear the second round participants sing. The song with the most votes will be selected for the contestants to sing. (There probably won‘t be an actual poll for this, the suggestions will just be counted in the thread.) HOWEVER, one important note for this- contestants will have a veto power; nothing too major, just to make it more fair. Songs out of someone’s range, for example, might give other contestants an advantage.

I believe it is in order to save time/keep things moving. So we select the songs now, so as soon as the winners from the first round are chosen, they have their playlist ready to go. |

I am going to have to nominate Rick Astley’s immortal Never Gonna Give You Up. In a Singing Competition involving a community playing a game about the Internet, this song is a given, so Im going to throw it into the ring.
EDIT: It doesnt say anoything about competitors nominating, if taht is tyhe case do disregard this. Also, the song IS on karaokeparty dobnits edited this message on 02/10/2009 1:56AM |

Never Gonna’ Give You Up is a good choice.
Non-meme option: REO Speedwagon’s Keep On Loving You. |

I don’t know how many people can actually sing like Rick Astley, but I’m going to support Never Gonna Give You Up too. |

Actually, I retract my support for Never Gonna’ Give You Up, and move for it to be disqualified.
MC Banhammer as already performed this song for Flamebate; we need all new material. |

I suggest something somewhat well known to avoid some people who know a song to have an advantage on people who don’t. Also keep in mind that the male contestants might not be able to sing a song by Aretha Franklin, and the girls might not be able to sing some songs originally sung by men (I mean pitch wise).
My vote goes out to something along the lines of Coldplay…if I even make it to the second round. |

A-ha – “Take On Me” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVyGoCWf5p4
****ing amazing song, and goes through low and higher pitches.
Also suggesting there be just 2 songs to pick from, one with a low tone range, an one with a high one to be fair. Johnny Mac edited this message on 02/24/2009 1:26AM |

Take on me? Are you serious? Have you ever tried singing that?
No offense but only female mezzo sopranos and castrated men can pull that off. |
