WMK changed splash.php to splash.bak with a friendly advisory left in the source to secure XAMPP.

THIS is why you should awlays, always configure XAMPP security.

php sucks

PHP is a fine language, very specific to it’s purpose. That’s like saying a hammer suck because you don’t know how to build a house.

Alot of people like PERL for web building, that’s all fine and good but PERL has many other purposes and it’s code base shows it, and just like PHP if you don’t know how to securely write a PERL script then it really doesn’t matter does it?

No matter HOW secure you make code, you can never account for the human inadequacy be it forgetfulness, laziness or even social engineering.

Thing hackers know:

1.) People like something for nothing and will risk the click if it looks believable.

2.) Most people that use computers don’t know as much about them as they should.

3.) Given time and patience you can talk just about anyone into giving out secure information.

So you really can’t blame a programming or scripting language for that.
